Bastille Day 2011.

It's hard for me to believe that this was our second Bastille Day in France. What is also hard for me to believe is how freaking cold it was this year for Bastille Day, as compared to last year's summer weather. No tank tops to be found this time around, as scarves and jackets were the order of the day, along with some red wine to warm the chill in the bones.

We celebrated with our fellow Thoiry-sians at the salle de fete in centre ville, along with some accordion players, saucisse, frites and as mentioned earlier, red wine.

{The line for food was quite long...}

{Cue disinterested ceremonious line dancing.}

Happy belated Bastille Day!

A la prochaine friends...

Bastille Day...

Bastille Day was on July 14 here in France, and we spent the evening with some friends at the salle de fete for the village's annual celebration.

There was a band (which inlcuded two different button accordion players)...

I'm told by an expert that this guy's was an antique...

There was some dancing...

There were some Stroms...

...and a raffle (basket and half-full bottle of Pelligrino not included)...

And then there's my favorite, the french line dance...

We then headed outside to watch the fireworks over the fields after a night of frites and bieres. Can't wait for our next village shindig! (Watch out loto night!)
