Two hours in America.

Happy mardi everyone! How was your weekend? We had a great weekend here in SwitzerFrance, complete with double Bikram classes for me on Saturday in Geneva, Beer Mac 'n Cheese (recipe soon to follow), the Sunday Thoiry Market, and spending two hours in "America."

But how did we spend two hours in America you ask?

CERN Softball - played at the marine barracks outside Geneva...technically American soil.

And by "technically American soil" I mean paying for american beer in american dollars (or CHF, or euro if you negotiate), while listening to a New York radio station, and watching a bunch of scientists play a bunch of Cubans in softball...and because the marine barracks are there too I guess...

{Not American beer.}

{Hey, I can see Lac Leman from America!}

Oh, and then there's this:

MONSTER TRUCKS! IN FRANCE!

FORD Monster trucks, en plus. Could Sunday have been any more 'merican if we tried?

Hope you all had an equally awesome weekend!

Yoga Commute: Wild flowers and musicians

Not a bad way of setting the tone for a morning of Bikram yoga, don't you think?

Yoga Commute.

Happy Wednesday! Hope everyone has had a good couple of days since my last post. Today I'm going to introduce what will hopefully be a very regular installment here at IAONAH, simply called "Yoga Commute."

As many of you know, we live close enough to Geneva where its possible to go in everyday for yoga/etc., but far enough away that it can also be a major headache.

There are a variety of ways for me to get into the city, none of them being physically easy...

My preferred method of commute is by bike, and as much as I complain about it, it's a really nice way to take in the beauty of our little part of SwitzerFrance...

I'm continually amazed by how fast our region can go from rural to urban and back again, just in about 11 or 12 miles...

So I'd like to begin sharing pictures of my yoga commute with all of you, if you wouldn't mind...

...and don't worry, my bike helmet is in the front basket. When Doc isn't taking pictures of me on my bike it goes on my head. :)

Backtracking: Berlin Part Three

Tired of Berlin's graffiti yet? Phew, me either! I'll let the walls do the talking...

{Teeny tiny BFF Skull Bracelets}

{Zombie child.}

{Zombie child strikes again!}

{All that tourin' can make you thirsty...}

Well, that's it for our February Berlin trip. Hoping to get back there soon so I can see more of the city, drink more of its beer, and do some more shopping!

And to all my fellow expats, frenchies and francophiles: Happy Bastille Day!
